Three parts behind one map

Installing Leaflet does not settle the terms for the background map. Check the rendering library, the data licence, and the tile server policy separately. The local BAKUO demo map component likewise uses Leaflet with a separate tile configuration.

This procedure refers to Leaflet 1.9.4 and official OSM documentation. Local source code alone does not establish compliance or a frame rate for the deployed service.

Check OSM attribution

OSM data uses ODbL. Display attribution and provide access to licence information; check obligations for the data and output you use. Start with the OSM copyright page.

Read and open the attribution on the actual screen. Mobile controls can cover it, and poor contrast can make a technically present label unusable. Record sources and terms separately for store listings obtained from another publisher.

Using the public tile service

The public OSM tile service is not an unlimited CDN. Review the tile policy for HTTPS URLs, attribution, caching, and request identification. Do not add bulk download or prefetch features.

Use the browser Network panel to inspect requests while moving and zooming. Choose a suitable provider if traffic or requirements cannot fit the public service. Open data does not mean a particular delivery server is always available.

Verify a small map first

This initialization snippet assumes Leaflet 1.9.4 is already loaded and the map element has height. The centre is only for checking the display. See the Leaflet quick start for loading the library and sizing its container.

// Requires Leaflet 1.9.4 CSS/JS and <div id="map"> with a nonzero height.
const map = L.map('map').setView([37.5, 127], 12);
L.tileLayer('https://tile.openstreetmap.org/{z}/{x}/{y}.png', {
  attribution: '&copy; <a href="https://www.openstreetmap.org/copyright">OpenStreetMap</a> contributors'
}).addTo(map);

For a blank region, check container height and CSS first. For grey tiles, inspect HTTP statuses and console errors. A map revealed after being hidden may need invalidateSize to recalculate its size.

Separate directory data from map traffic

Searching a store list locally does not prevent background-map requests from reaching a tile provider. Do not expand “local search” into “no external traffic.” Sending coordinates or an address to an external map is another boundary to inspect.

Before publishing, check attribution, a usable list when the map fails, navigation controls, and controls covered on small screens. Measure the real bottleneck before changing marker rendering. Do not present unmeasured FPS as a product result.
